How to avoid the filter for duplicated content

Custom Search

More webmasters create web sites based on public available information like data feeds, articles, news or blogs.
The result is, there are many sites with a duplicated content offering information already available elsewhere.
In the case of sites based exclusively on newsfeed or data feeds via RSS, their content can be completely identical except for structure and design.
Having many copies of the same content in a database of a search engine is not a good thing.
Google decided to delete the duplicated contents to give its users better results. Copied and duplicated contents have been hit hardly.
Certain sites have been penalised or even removed from the search results.
Duplicated contents are not always illicit or useless though. Press communication and RSS diffusion are licit procedures.

How do I know if a page is flagged or duplicated?

Copy a paragraph and paste it in Google. If you find the same content in the first result but your page is not there, there are 2 reasons: your page has not been indexed yet or it has been removed.
Click on the link "repeat the search with the omitted results included". There is a good possibility that the page with duplicated content is among these results: the filter anti-duplication penalised it.

How to avoid the filter for duplicated content

Without defending the plagiarism (even at school who copies get punished), there are some methods to acquire content and use it to create new content that is useful for the readers and avoid the filter.

01.

Add new content to pages with duplicated content.
Adding 20-30% of original content reduces the risk to be flagged as duplicated content.

02.

Casual content.
A box with "The suggestion of the day", for example. It is a script that adds random content. When the spider comes back, it will find new content.

03.

Unique content.
This is the most secure way for a web site to be successful, at least in relation to search engines. Even if sometimes you add information existing elsewhere, the goal is to have at least 50% of original content.

Will this guarantee a good position? Nobody knows. The site that wants to be succesful must provide only original content.
