Blog and Ping for SEO
Few years ago, one of the most used techniques to be indexed quickly was to use the blog.
Blogs became a classic component for SEO.
After that, its effectiveness decreased because many people misused it.
Certain things that were useful 2 years ago are useless today. The worse part of it is that some people who are not informed keep on teaching and using old methods, with even worse consequences.
However blog is not dead. It is enough to apply updated SEO techniques and use them in today’s context.
The blog and ping technique is about inserting a short content of the blog present in your site on a site that collects them (mainly, on blogger.com) specifying the URL of your site. After you have done that, notify Yahoo that the blog has been updated. Your site will be indexed quickly by both Yahoo and Google because blogger.com has a high PR.
Then add an article to the blog, do the ping of blogger.com and wait for the spiders.
A blog of just a few pages is enough. The main objective is to attract the search engines to your site.
Unfortunately, many people have not understood this mechanism and set themselves up as SEO experts, teaching their customers how to ping with every page of their site.
If it wasn’t enough, they insist on the fact that the procedure must be repeated as frequent as possible to maintain the link.
Blog and ping are not effective anymore if done by using such awkward and abusive techniques.
