Google Add-URL. When to use it?
A few years ago the most clicked link was the “Submit to Google”. It was done to induce the spider to a new visit. Everybody used to do it. It wasn’t a wrong procedure. But how often is it done nowadays? Never… Or almost never.
When a new client turns to an agency SEO, usually his site is already present in the search engines. Perhaps without any rankings, but the main pages of the site are already indexed. Therefore it is useless to waste time, Google already knows that the site exists. It would not be well for the site.
You cannot awaken the Giant G simply shouting “I am here!”. But you have the need of other sites talking about you.
The only time when I use the page Add-url it is when I have a completely new site, never indexed, online for the first time. It will be in the sandbox for 6 months, therefore it is worth it to start immediately the clock of Google and in the meantime to work on the contents.
The indexing happens quickly, so it is not necessary to repeat the operation – nothing will change. However , the introduction of the program Google Sitemaps is the case in which the indexing must be made. Every site should now have the file XML of the Google sitemap even if the site is already indexed. The good thing is, that this must be done only once. After submitting the Sitemap to Google, it will be enough to upgrade the file xml, Google will hit it every day to check the variations of your site.
