Indexing guaranteed with Google Sitemaps

Custom Search

Google Sitemaps You have probably already submitted your URL to Google and most likely you waited weeks before being indexed. Using Google Sitemaps, however, may help things to get much better.
So here is something you can try. Create a file .xml, create a free account and submit the URL of your sitemap. Your pages will be indexed immediately.
The Google Sitemap Protocol allows you to inform the crawler about the addresses of the pages, but not only that.
It also includes information about the last modification and the frequency the page is modified.

The xml file includes 6 xml tags:
  • urlset - it refers to the current protocol
  • changefreq - frequency of updating
  • lastmod - last updating
  • url - main tag for each URL
  • loc - URL of the page
  • priority

How to create a Sitemap

Google Sitemap is a xml file, so it can be written even with Notepad.
Syntax and content of the links are very important and must be created very carefully.
To help you out with this, you can use the Google Sitemap Generator.

The file created consents you to choose the pages to exclude and intervene on the xml tags before generating the sitemap.
Before generating it, be sure that your site has no broken links.
To do so, you can use the Link Validator Spider. Once it is verified, create your file sitemap.xml.

After you have done that, transfer the file in the root of your site using a FTP client and submit the URL to Google (it will be yoursite.com.au/sitemap.xml).
